Verification programme
What the verified badge on a profile actually means — and, just as importantly, what it does not.
What verified means
A verified profile is one where a person on our team checked the company’s identity documents against what the profile claims. It is a check on identity and licensing, not an endorsement of quality.
What we check
- The legal entity exists and matches the name on the profile.
- The domain is controlled by that entity.
- Each licence claimed is confirmed against the regulator’s own register.
- The person managing the profile can prove they work for the company.
- Certifications claimed are confirmed with the issuing body.
What it does not mean
Verification says nothing about product quality, delivery, support or commercial terms. That is what the reviews are for. A verified supplier with a low rating is exactly what it looks like: a real company that its clients rate poorly.
Expiry and revocation
A licence that lapses removes the badge for that licence. A profile that stops matching its documents loses verification until it is corrected. Verification is a statement about now, not about the day it was granted.
