Playtech
Listed platform, content and payments group serving tier-one operators
Playtech is the largest supplier in this category and the only one that is publicly listed — it sits in the FTSE 250, which means its accounts, its contracts and its regulatory problems are all public reading. For a buyer doing diligence, that is a material advantage no private competitor can match.
The group is a platform (PAM+), eight in-house content studios, live casino, sports, retail and payments. Its named clients include bet365, Entain, Rank, Sisal and Norsk Tipping — state and tier-one operators, which tells you where the product is aimed and roughly what the commercial floor looks like.
It holds a Great Britain Gambling Commission licence (38516) and a Malta Gaming Authority corporate licence (MGA/CRP/137/2007). BetBuddy, its safer gambling analytics product, is one of the few such tools sold as a product rather than bundled as a compliance checkbox.
The honest caveat is fit. Playtech is built for operators with a compliance team, an integration team and a multi-year horizon. A startup asking for a three-week launch is not the buyer this product was designed for, and the commercial terms will say so.
